Health & Safety
Space Excavation understands that the health & safety of its workforce and those affected by its operations is of paramount importance.
It is the Space Excavation firm intention to ensure that the highest standards of Health & Safety are applied throughout the organisation.
Space Excavation has comprehensive Environmental and Health & Safety policies which are carefully adhered to. These policies are reviewed regularly to ensure Space Excavation is constantly abreast of the latest legislation and guidance and that everyone on site is safe at all times.
All Space Excavation staff are thoroughly briefed on induction to ensure that they adhere to the strict health & safety standards. This includes policies and guidelines on fire safety, first aid, personal protective equipment (PPE), safety signs and security.
To ensure the safety of all staff and visitors, on each Space Excavation site, all waste and debris must be continually removed to avoid a build-up. All breakages and spillages are reported, and all areas are cleaned before during and after work.
Where necessary, formal training schemes are also offered to staff members:
· Site Managers Safety training scheme
· Sit Supervisors Safety training scheme
· Temporary Works Co-Ordinator (BS5875)
· Temporary Works Supervisor (BS5875)
In addition, Space Excavation carries out minimum fortnightly formal inspections by a qualified health & safety practitioner, formal reporting and performance assessments, and project scoring and league tables.
Space Excavation is also proud to have CHAS membership and Considerate Contractors accreditations.
